STEAM Lab

The STEAM Lab is a classroom of the future at Kings Beach Elementary where students create their understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). This space allows for integrating curriculum rather than isolating which corresponds to a constructivist approach to learning. At Kings Beach Elementary, we recognize that constructing understanding is one of many ways to learn, and we want to foster this for our students. The laboratory is run by our science and technology teacher, Paula Bossler, and there is a system in place where teachers can book the room or sign out kits to take to their classrooms. The equipment in the laboratory was purchased using Measure A funds.
